This week, we had Dawn join us and teach us about EFT tapping and hypnotherapy. For many of us, this topic may be quite unfamiliar, but Dawn eased into the workshop by naming common examples of daily hypnosis: watching a movie, reading a book, or even getting a diagnosis from a medical provider. These exemplify scenarios in which an individual is easily suggestible and influenced.
Essentially, EFT tapping and hypnotherapy address ways to control our emotional well-being and spiritual systems, focusing on the energy that exists within us. It helps us manage stress and negative emotions that we may deal with throughout our lives.
EFT tapping in particular affects our subconscious mind. Dawn led us through the theory of mind in which the conscious area is comprised of willpower, reasoning, and analysis while the subconscious area controls our emotion, intuition, and “automatic behavior.” EFT focuses on negative emotions that disrupt the body’s electrical and energetic system. The energy in our bodies is carried in tiny pathways called meridians, and lightly tapping on end meridian points activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing for calmness.
EFT tapping can help with various aspects of health including stress, anxiety, chronic health conditions, physical discomfort, fears, phobias, and trauma. In fact, Gary Craig, a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and trained in other forms of Energy Psychology, used EFT Tapping as a complementary treatment for veterans with PTSD.

Dawn recommends practicing EFT tapping within 30 min of waking up and 30 min before sleep when you are the most mindful and open to hypnosis.
