Week 8: Yoga

Updated: Mar 4, 2023

This week we welcomed Jiling Lin, who is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac), herbalist, and yoga instructor. She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s in studio art, and pursued her masters of science in acupuncture. Now, Jiling holds public and private yoga classes, and teaches principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and herbs. She also works in clinical practice, where she prescribes yoga to patients, leading therapeutic exercises and offering dietary lifestyle support. Jiling believes that lifestyle is the root of health: how we eat, move, and rest interact with each other to determine our wellbeing. Her favorite yoga position is Savasana, a resting pose that often marks the end of a yoga session (as it did ours). She mentions that it may very well be the most difficult pose due to the chronic tension that we hold in our bodies. In Savasana, we must be aware and relaxed at the same time.

More information and resources about Jiling’s work can be found on her website,
