My Summer Habits

Updated: Mar 5, 2023

Hi everyone! My name is Jineava and I am the president of SIM. Welcome back to another school year! Over this summer, I had a lot of fun among traveling in Taipei, hanging out with friends, and just relaxing at home with Netflix. Amidst all the fun, the hardest thing for me was staying healthy and holding myself accountable for what I ate. Here are some tips on how I stayed healthy during the summer.

1. Commit to exercise. I went to a circuit training class with a friend for a week and I felt amazing! My productivity meter rises when I wake up at 5am for circuit training and I feel the infinite possible things I can do for the rest of the day. When I don’t go for training, I put on a yoga Youtube video at home-simple and easy to fit into a busy day. However, doing at-home exercises are harder to commit to because I can stop at any time. Going to classes with a buddy motivates me and prevents me from stopping mid-way. Either way, COMMIT!

2. Smoothies. Mix some kale or spinach in with my strawberry-banana smoothie and voilà! I got my fruit and veggie intake for the day. Smoothies are good for at home or on-the-go and they are a great way to start the day.

3. Habit tracker. There is a satisfaction knowing you exercised everyday this week or you ate your fruits and veggies. I have a bullet journal where I keep track of habits I am working on. Currently, I am tracking my sleep schedule, exercise, fruits/veggies, and book time. It is like my checklist for the day.

As the new school year starts, lets keep these habits going!

My habit tracker for the upcoming school year!
